This is the first sensor bin I’ve had and it’s great. It’s stylish with reasonable capacity and fits nicely into my small kitchen. The sensor is appropriately sensitive to movement and the lid stays open for a few seconds before closing. Not sure how long the batteries will last. Although pricey compared to non-sensor bins, to me the design and functionality is worth it and I would recommend.

A Classy Bin!
The bin looks very stylish and is a good size for a small to medium kitchen (i have small kitchen and it’s not too imposing).
The sensor works really well, you need to hold or move something relatively near it, the doors open quickly and then blue lights come on to indicate when it’s about to close, which is a really useful feature. If you are holding something over it, the doors stay open. There’s also the option of tapping on the control panel to open and close the doors manually.
It needs 6 AA batteries to operate, and they don’t come included so make sure you have some handy. I guess the need for batteries is the only downside to the bin, but I’m not sure how you could overcome that.
I’ve been sceptical of sensor bins, always preferring the feedback you get from a pedal bin, but thought i’d give one a try and have been pleasantly surprised. As bins go, it’s a pretty classy addition the kitchen!
